cooperation system construction and public opinion challenges of belt and road initiative: a study from the perspective of international direct investment

abstract"the belt and road" initiative, which was proposed in 2013, has attracted extensive attention from the international community. due to the huge differences in institutions and cultures between different countries, “the belt and road” initiative has also been questioned in practice. in order to respond to the world's attention and promote "the belt and road" initiative peacefully, this paper tries to interpret the initiative from the perspective of international investment. this paper argues that the proposal of "the belt and road" has a profound background of international investment and chinese investment. by sorting out the process of "the belt and road" concept and system building-up, this paper thinks that "cooperation" is the essence of "the belt and road" initiative, and the initiative is highly compatible with the world and china's investment background. the initiative is china's commitment and efforts to peacefully integrate into the world, uphold multilateralism and realize common prosperity and development based on china's years of experience in opening up and the practice of investing abroad in the current situation of counter-globalization. on the basis, this paper analyzes and responds to the major public opinion challenges encountered by the initiative in the field of economy and investment, and puts forward some comprehensive suggestions to cope with the current challenges.
